Italian Modernism: Villa Malaparte,Capri,Italy.

Designed by the rationalist architect “Adalberto Libera” in 1938, for “Curzio Malaparte” an Italian writer in Punta Massullo on the island of Capri.

In 1963 the French film director J.L. Godard used the villa for his exquisite film “Les Mepris (The Contempt) with Michel Piccoli, Fritz Lang, Jack Palance and Brigitte Bardot, based on a novel of Alberto Moravia. Some scenes from the film in Villa Malaparte can be seen “here“.
